Eventually the thickness of the layer represents the quality of plated jewelry. To be considered Gold Vermeil the gold layer needs to be a minimum of 2,5 micron. heroyne rings are plated with very high 5 microns of 14 or 18 karat Gold on recycled 925 Sterling Silver to last even longer. The process is always nickel-free.
